About the Artist
Lisa Mauer Elliott sees photography as a means to express her deepest delight in what is challenging, beautiful and often times both inexpressibly sensual and impossibly removed about the physical world.
She often looks for the ever-present connections between seemingly disparate objects. What is temporary also fascinates her. She is interested in the constant change that hums around us in life.
Lisa believes photography can be a voice and is interested in having conversations that explore what is beautiful and sacred about the world. She believes that, as human beings, when we become disconnected from beauty, destruction becomes most evident. As an artist, Lisa is interested in the idea of creating images that reveal new meanings over time and provide openings for conversations through form and expressions which are ultimately silent.
