About the Artist
Sarah Rust Sampedro is interested in the way that place shapes and affects how people view and interact with the world.
She has a special interest in environments (built and natural) and is exploring their relationship with the development of personality and the connection of people and places. She is currently photographing places from her own life and history as a way to explore individual development as exclusive, or whether many people share common experiences of growth.
As an artist, Sarah is constantly considering what photography is as an art form. Anyone can take a pretty picture, but how does one take an image further? How does one instill a simple, two-dimensional representation with a sense of spirituality, mystery or existence greater than the self?
