This series of utility box designs is based on different Minneapolis neighborhoods. Using Hubble Telescope imagery and local landmarks, this work celebrates the contrast of dark and light in Minnesota, the North Star State. The two are made more dynamic because of their relationship to one another in our long summer days and winter nights. The light of the stars can only be seen because of the surrounding darkness; one is only seen with the other. This contrast makes each more significant than it could be on its own.
